It’s been a practice of producers or manufacturers to spend an enormous amount of capital in advertising compare to research and development.
I believe that research and development should be given more weight than advertising.
If a manufacturer spends more money in advertising, the customers will surely not receive the full value of the product. The manufacturer recovers the cost of advertising by charging their customer higher than the actual price of the product. This entails that the product will be more costly but less in quality.
If a manufacturer directs more capital in research and development, the customers pay for the valid price of the goods. In addition, the goods will be higher in quality because of the increase of funds diverted to research and development.
Therefore, I suggest that manufacturers should give more attention to research and development instead to advertising.
